The Stamps and the Senses

Issued: 2.10.2009

"On the block, produced in cooperation with the Portuguese Association for the Blind and Partially Sighted (Associação de Cegos e Amblíopes de Portugal – ACAPO), all the information appears repeated in Braille characters and on the limited space of the stamp, the word Braille can also be read in both types of characters. The remaining stamps of this issue are dedicated to each of the five senses, allowing for experiencing real physical interaction: the touch feels the embossed ink coming out of the tube; the smell receives the aroma of the cup of coffee; the sight detects holographic images on the spectacle lenses that change according to the position of the stamp; the taste identifies the flavour of vanilla on the glue of the stamp that shows an ice-cream; the ear is sensitive to the noise made by the file when you rub its rough surface." A380 Covers Catalogue

Hello, Hope this finds you all well. Been a while since I posted here but I just opened blogspot and this opened.. very odd. So thought hey I would write. Some of you are interested in aviation and aerophilately I know, so I thought I'd introduce a project I have just completed - as far it can be completed. A Covers catalogue for cddstamps (and some others) A380 flight covers.

I hope you have some time to view. If you enjoy seeing the covers, and pictures of crew I am sure you will enjoy looking around. It will take a while as every different cover is scanned, and as I say, there are pictures of crew signing. There is an Introduction Page, then a Table of Contents page with various boring details if you wish to buy a cover. Just one obvious point perhaps, if you view a picture just click back arrow to return to previous page. I have not had time to get too sophisticated in the code. Of you can access everything from the cddstamps website home page
If you find an error or bad link please let me know. I have tested it but I could have missed something. email as always at
Have a great weekend, Best wishes ............. Michael

Cat Post: Qiandao Lake

The Miniature Sheet about Qiandao Lake scenic area in HangZhou, China has been issued in April,2009.

This Miniature was planed to be issued in 2006, but since the design couldn't satisfy the China the plan of issuing this miniature was delayed. Finally, in the year of 2009, this miniature is issued. However, lots of the critics think that this miniature cannot show the real scenery of the Qiandao Lake scenic area, they think that this miniature only covers about 6 or 7 islands, which can't be called Qiandao, which means lots of islands in Chinese.

So i put the pictures of the real scenery of the Qiandao Lake scenic area and the postcard about this scenery and also the miniature.

Do you think this miniature can show the real scenery?

hey! this is carolina from brazil!

Hello all! I'm Carolina, the new writer on this nice blog. (:

I'm a 20 (almost 21!) years old girl studying Graphic Design at University. I've been penpalling/postcardpalling since 2006, when I registered at Postcrossing. I also collect stamps, but I really don't know much about them... I hope I can learn much about it just posting to this blog. (: Despite this things I love the winter, art, photography, draw, reading, music...

But now let me talk a bit about stamps in Brazil: the first brazillian stamp was made in 1843, so Brazil was the second country in the world to have stamps! (first one was England, I think you know it, right?)

The mail service in Brazil is called "Correios", and was created in 1969. It's nice to tell that brazillian post also made the first stamp written in Braille and the second holograph one.

Well, I should end it here. I'll try to be better on the next post. (:
