Commemorative Stamps: The S/S depicts the Danube clouded yellow - Colias myrmidone (Esper, 1780). "It's a daytime butterfly of the Pieridae family, which is a typical eastern species. In many European countries it is rare and in some places it is already extinct. That is why it is included in the European directive of habitats and the protection areas Natura 2000 were designated for its preservation."
The 0.24 Euro stamp has a Tiger moth – Callimorpha quadripunctaria (Poda, 1761) in its design. "Tiger moth is a night-time butterfly of the Arctiidae family. Tiger moth is quite common in Slovenia but endangered in Northern Europe. That is why it is also included in the European directive of habitats and the protection areas Natura 2000 were designated for its preservation."
